About Kimberly

Kimberly Ann Freel was born and raised in rural Okanogan County, Washington, where she still resides with her husband and her four children.  She is a true country girl, her home surrounded by acres and acres of alfalfa, and gardening and canning being high on her summer activities list.

Kimberly was educated at Seattle University where she received a degree in (of all things) Diagnostic Ultrasound.  Yep, she's a scientist with a creative side.  She worked in the ultrasound field for twelve years before recently cutting back to one day per week to stay at home with the kids and to do more writing.

Besides writing, Kimberly is passionate about reading and spending time with her close-knit family and friends.  She has a hopeless addiction to All My Children and American Idol and since she's at home more these days, she's become a whiz in the kitchen.

Her new favorite reading material is "O" (Oprah) Magazine which she appreciates for articles she can read in small snatches (at bath time, nap time, etc.) that apply meaningfully to her life as a busy mom.

Kimberly did the cover designs for both of her first two novels.  They featured, as backgrounds, pictures of the skies surrounding their ranch.  What a way of life!  Below are more pictures of the breathtaking scenery of Okanogan County.
